Twitter reactions: Tom Latham, Kane Williamson lead New Zealand to a comfortable win over India in 1st ODI

New Zealand defeated India in the first One-Day International (ODI) of the ongoing three-match series at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.

Chasing 307, the Black Caps were in a spot of bother after losing three wickets for 88 in 19.5 overs. Before the tourists could look for more breakthroughs, skipper Kane Williamson other Tom Latham joined hands to bail out the Black Caps.

The duo kept tickling the scoreboard with singles and doubles, and never really India put some pressure on them. Latham, in particular, what the chief architect as he went on to smash a tremendous century.

Latham and Williamson put on a record-breaking 221 runs partnership for the fourth wicket to help New Zealand seal the deal in the three-match series opener. Earlier, the visitors posted 306/7 in their allotted 50 overs, thanks to brilliant knocks from top-order batters and a cameo from Washington Sundar.
