Here is a roundup if the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you may have missed over the past 24 hours –
Arsenal have been told that the signing of Leandro Trossard is a very good deal for the club
After an impressive start to the Premier League season and then an impressive World Cup – Trossard is a player that all the big clubs in the English game were very keen on.
However – After Arsenal showed an interest in the player – make contact with Brighton and then made an offer that the club could not turn down – he is now a gunner
The fee is an initial £20m plus add-ons – it could reach £27m – and could be available to face Manchester United on Sunday.
And after hearing of the transfer deal – Sky Sports News’ Kaveh Solhekol has told The Transfer Show that this is a good deal for both sides: “This is a good deal for both clubs. As far as Arsenal are concerned, they walked away from the deal for Mudyrk and now sign someone who has got Premier League experience.
“This is a less risky signing than Mudryk, although I think he will turn out to be a fantastic signing for Chelsea.
“Brighton are getting big money for a player they signed around three-and-a-half years ago for £15m. He’s 28 now and was unhappy at Brighton.
“I don’t think they’re going to miss him that much because they’ve got Mitoma, who has been in absolutely incredible form over the past couple of months.”
Trossard is a brilliant player that will add some quality to that arsenal squad – this is a very good move from the Gunners to make.
Ramos claim –
John Barnes has tipped Arsenal to take a look at £100million Benfica star Goncalo Ramos.
The January window has been open for a while now – but Mikel Arteta has not really signed the players that he would have hoped too – but there is still alot more time to get some deals done.
Ramos is a young man that has been catching the eye of the big teams over the past few weeks and is a player that earned huge praise at the World Cup for his performances when he replaced Cristiano Ronaldo.
Now – amid the speculation – Barnes has opened up and tipped the Gunners to show an interest in signing the Benfica star – He told BonusCodeBets: “Arsenal have been performing well without Gabriel Jesus for a while now, but they’ll be looking at players who suit them rather than buying players instantly.
“A £100m signing like Goncalo Ramos has to suit the club’s needs.
“You can’t just say how every player would be good for any club, they need to suit the philosophy and style of play.”
Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has told the likes of arsenal that Ramos will end up in the Premier League -Speaking to OLBGhe said: “Goncalo Ramos is a fantastic player, it’s not easy to replace Cristiano Ronaldo like he did. He will end up in the Premier League like a lot of Portuguese players, he can adapt there.
“If he wants to go to England, he’ll want to go to a big club. I’m sure that clubs like arsenal or Manchester United will look out for him.
“He’s a player destined for the Premier League because it’s the best league in the world and the best want to play there.”
We are not sure what type of player that Mikel Arteta would like to see arrive in the coming weeks – but Gomes could be a good option as he would provide very good back-up for the injured Gabriel Jesus when he is back to full fitness.
However – Arteta may be looking at more established players as he knows that Man City will only be signing the best – so we cant see Gomes at the Emirates anytime soon.
John Barnes recons Raheem Sterling could ditch Chelsea for a move to arsenal this transfer window.
The England star signed a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months last summer and was hailed as a world class signing for Chelsea, but that will not stop the leadership letting him go.
He has failed to make the impact expected at the London giants after the move from Man City – and looks nothing like the man that scored 20 goals a season for Pep Guardiola.
According to recent reports on FichajesArsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Englishman this month, just six months after Sterling left Manchester City to join the Blues.
Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Sterling and wanted him at Arsenal in the summer – but did not want to match the high fee and the massive wage that Chelsea offered the Englishman.
Now – amid all the speculation and rumors – John Barnes has claimed that Sterling could not ditch Chelsea and make a move to arsenal – He told BonusCodeBets: “I don’t think Raheem Sterling will go back to Man City despite the rumors of him wanting to leave.
“If Arsenal were interested in Sterling and guaranteed him to play in the first team every week, then maybe that is the best decision for Sterling to make.
“If Sterling did go to Arsenal, who would he replace? He does not walk into that team, he has to decide to go to a team who will play him consistently.”
We do not believe that Chelsea will let Sterling leave this transfer window – he has played a big part for Graham Potter so far – and the fact he is injured until February means that it will be hard to get him off the books.
But why would arsenal want to sign a man that has flopped so much at Chelsea?
